Infographic: Celebrating Towel Day - May 25, 2012
Lemon.ly has a hoopy little infographic about Towel Day which falls on this Friday, May 25th.
If you don’t know much about Douglas Adams, the most important
thing to know is that he wrote humorous and fun science fiction books. This May marks the 11-year anniversary of Adams’ death. Two weeks after his death, his fans decided to commemorate him by making May 25th, Towel Day, and it turns out Lemon.ly’s designer, Ana, is one of those fans.Great work, Ana, and one should always know where their towel is.

If you follow our blog you’ll probably have seen that on May 25th our recreation of the H.O.U.N.D shirt seen in Sherlock series 2 goes on sale at qwertee.com for 2 days! Because there is only a 48 hour window in which to buy the shirt we want as many people to know about it as possible so they don’t miss out on the chance to grab themselves one. The shirt is currently available in colour at our RedBubble store but the vintage black and white version will only ever be sold on Qwertee so this really is your only chance to get one!
So what better way to spread the word than a giveaway! And this will certainly be our shortest running giveaway ever as you only have until the 26th of May to reblog (which is only three days away!)
To enter
1. Reblog (as many times as you like). Likes don’t count.
2. You do not have to be following wearsherlockWe will ship worldwide.
Shipping is of course free. The winners will be selected on Saturday May 26th at 3pm (GMT). We will post the winners on the blog at 3.30pm and you MUST send us your address and size preference before 10pm or we will give your shirt to somebody else. This is because we will need to send the shirt to you within the times of the qwertee sale.
(If you don’t want to take your chances the shirt will be available to buy for just £8/$12 on the 25th-26th of May so keep an eye on qwertee.com over the weekend!)

It’s sinking in.
I went to a job interview in Coney Island today. I nailed it, I know, and I probably got the job. I wandered out and let the smile fall off my face, unsure what to do next. You live your whole life in total institutions, getting told what to do and when, and we always forget to just take a moment and breath. So I walked the boardwalk, watching it get patched and gentrified. I saw the locals come out, seedy and strong and defiant of the “growth” forced upon them. I realized I was walking an allegory. So I wandered to the beach, out into the sea, work slacks rucked up as far as they’d go, and I watched the sea and fell in love with it all over again. I stood on shifting sands and dug deep and kept my footing the way I was taught when I fenced, when I sang, when I rode the train. I guess, at the end of this allegory I realized that nothing changes, I’m still here. I’m still what’s been made and what I’ve always been. So I have one more grand adventure. I’ll deal. I always do.
Edit: Yes, I ate ice cream.
